Chengdu Shishi Union Middle School (Shaanxi Street Campus (陕西街校区)) stands at No. 29 Shaanxi Street in Qingyang District (青羊区), Chengdu. As one of the famous “Three Little Union Middle Schools” (三小联中) in the city, it is highly regarded by parents and students alike. But what truly makes this school special is not just its excellent teaching quality — it is the thousand-year cultural heritage (文化遗产) that flows through its veins (流淌在血脉之中).

成都石室联合中学（陕西街校区）位于成都市青羊区陕西街29号。作为成都市著名的“三小联中”之一，它深受家长和学生的好评。但真正让这所学校特别的，不仅仅是其卓越的教学质量，更是流淌在血脉中的千年文化传承。

The story begins more than two thousand years ago. In 141 BC, during the Western Han Dynasty (西汉), a wise official named Wen Weng (文翁) served as the governor of Shu (蜀郡太守; modern-day Sichuan). He founded the Wenweng Stone Chamber Academy (文翁石室学堂), the first government-run school (公立学校) in Chinese history. Later, this academy became the Shishi Middle School (石室中学), which is also known as Chengdu No. 4 Middle School (成都四中). The name “Shishi” means “stone chamber” (石室), and it represents a legacy of education (教育传承) that has lasted for over two thousand years without interruption.

故事要从两千多年前说起。公元前141年，西汉时期，一位名叫文翁的贤明官员担任蜀郡太守（今四川）。他创办了文翁石室学堂，这是中国历史上第一所由官府兴办的学校。后来，这所学堂发展为石室中学，也就是成都四中。“石室”意为“石屋”，代表着两千多年未曾中断的教育传承。

The Shaanxi Street campus (校区) carries its own rich history as well. In 1912, a private school (私立学校) called Huamei Women’s School (华美女子学校) was built on the site. Later, from 1942 to 1946, the famous Yenching University (燕京大学) from Beiping (北平, now Beijing) moved here and used the campus during the difficult war years (艰难的战争岁月). In 1978, Chengdu No. 10 Middle School (成都十中) was established at this location, continuing the tradition of education on this historic ground.

陕西街校区本身也承载着丰富的历史。1912年，一所名为华美女子学校的私立学校在此建立。后来，1942年至1946年间，来自北平（今北京）的著名燕京大学因战争年代的艰难时局迁至此处办学。1978年，成都十中在此成立，在这片历史悠久的土地上延续着教育的传统。

The most important chapter (篇章) came in 1997. At that time, Chengdu No. 10 Middle School joined hands (携手) with Shishi Middle School to create a new school: Chengdu Shishi Union Middle School. The new school combined Shishi’s ancient educational spirit (教育精神) with modern teaching methods (现代教学方法). It was like lighting a new flame from an old torch. Over the years, the school has earned many honors (荣誉), including the titles of “Leader of Quality Junior High Schools in Chengdu” (成都市优质初中领跑者) and “Sichuan Excellent Education Brand” (四川优秀教育品牌).

最重要的一章出现在1997年。当时，成都十中与石室中学携手创建了一所新学校：成都石室联合中学。新学校将石室古老的教育精神与现代教学方法融为一体。这就像从旧火炬上点燃新的火焰。多年来，学校获得了许多荣誉，包括“成都市优质初中领跑者”和“四川优秀教育品牌”等称号。

Today, the Shaanxi Street campus is the headquarters (总部) of the Shishi Union education group (教育集团), which now includes four campuses (校区): Shaanxi Street (陕西街), Jinsha (金沙), Chengfei (成飞), and Hongwen. The school has about 48 classes and more than 2,500 students. Its teachers are highly skilled (业务精湛), and its “Shishi Outstanding Talent Training Plan” (石室拔尖人才培养计划) has helped many students achieve great success in competitions and examinations (竞赛与升学考试).

如今，陕西街校区是石室联合中学教育集团的总部，集团现包含四个校区：陕西街、金沙、成飞和红文。学校有约48个教学班，2500多名学生。教师业务精湛，其“石室拔尖人才培养计划”帮助众多学生在竞赛和升学考试中取得优异成绩。
